Fresh speculation is swirling around two of Australia’s best-known media personalities after a series of newly registered internet domain names suggested Kyle Sandilands and Karl Stefanovic could be preparing to launch a joint project.

The registrations were discovered within the past 24 hours and include names such as kyleandkarl.com.au and karlandkyle.com.au. Public registration records indicate the domains were secured by King Kyle Group Pty Ltd, a company owned by Sandilands.

While registering domain names does not confirm that a new program or business venture is imminent, it is often one of the earliest public signs that media personalities are preparing to launch a brand, podcast, production company or digital platform. In this case, neither Sandilands nor Stefanovic has publicly announced a partnership, leaving room for considerable speculation about what the registrations may ultimately lead to.

The timing has attracted particular attention because both men have recently entered new stages of their careers. Stefanovic has departed Nine following the controversy surrounding his independent podcast, ending a relationship with the network that spanned more than two decades. Around the same time, his short-lived radio partnership with ARN also came to an end.

Sandilands has likewise been reshaping his future after reaching a financial settlement with ARN following the conclusion of his long-running broadcasting relationship with the company. That outcome has fuelled industry discussion about where one of Australia’s most recognisable radio personalities may appear next.

The pair have maintained a long friendship over many years. Stefanovic attended Sandilands’ wedding in 2023, and the two have frequently appeared together across television, radio and podcast interviews. Their personal relationship has often prompted discussion about the possibility of collaborating more formally, although no major joint project has previously materialised.

Adding to the intrigue is the discovery that another domain, themorningmen.com.au, was reportedly registered during 2024. Industry observers have interpreted that registration, together with the newly acquired “Kyle and Karl” domains, as a possible indication that planning for a future media brand may have been underway for some time. However, the intended purpose of the domains has not been publicly confirmed.

In Australia’s media industry, registering domain names before an official announcement is not uncommon. Companies often secure multiple web addresses months before revealing new programs, podcasts or commercial ventures in order to protect branding and avoid losing desirable domain names to third parties.
