Body of Missing Teen Celeste Rivas Found in Tesla Registered to Singer D4vd

LOS ANGELES — A missing teenage girl from Lake Elsinore has been identified as the body found deceased in the trunk of a Tesla registered to singer David Anthony Burke, better known as D4vd. Medical examiner’s officials released the name on Wednesday, confirming her as 15-year-old Celeste Rivas.

The tragic discovery has brought a shocking end to the search for the teen, who was reported missing from her home in May 2024. Eyewitness News has learned that the dead body was found on Sept. 8 in the front trunk of a Tesla that had been abandoned on a public street for two days before being impounded. The car is registered to the 20-year-old singer and TikTok star.

The Discovery of the Body

The investigation began after authorities were called to a tow yard in Hollywood on Sept. 8 to investigate a foul odor coming from a Tesla. Police sources say the vehicle had been at the lot for two days after being found abandoned on a public street. Upon inspection, officers located the body of a teenage girl inside a bag placed in the front trunk of the car. The body was in a state of decomposition.

The body was transported to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, where she was identified as Celeste Rivas. Her official cause of death has been listed as “deferred,” pending further investigation and toxicology reports.

The Victim: A Missing Teen from Lake Elsinore

Celeste Rivas, 15, had been missing from Lake Elsinore since May 2024. She had run away a few times before and had returned home, but her last runaway in May had left her family without contact. She was described as having wavy black hair and a tattoo on her right index finger that read “Shhh…”

The condition of the body suggests that she may have been deceased for some time before being discovered inside the Tesla.

The Singer’s Connection and the Ongoing Investigation

The Tesla is registered to David Anthony Burke, a singer known as D4vd who has amassed more than 33 million monthly listeners on Spotify for his songs “Here with Me” and “Romantic Homicide.”

The artist is currently on tour, though his show at the Showbox venue in Seattle was canceled on Wednesday. It is not confirmed if the cancellation is related to the investigation.

Police have stated that they intend to speak to the registered owner of the vehicle, as well as anyone else who may be connected to the case. So far, D4vd and his team have not released any public statements, and the singer has limited comments on his social media posts. As of now, no one has been officially named a suspect in the case. The D4vd investigation is still in its early stages.
