Customer Frustration and “SOS Mode”

The outage led to a flood of complaints on social media, with many users reporting that their phones were stuck in “SOS mode.” This feature allows a device to make emergency calls even without a connection to its carrier’s network, but it prevents all other normal service functions.

Many customers expressed anger and disappointment, with some noting that they pay a premium for Verizon‘s service and criticizing the company for a perceived lack of timely communication.
